A classic home improvement scam is the model home ploy, where you’re told they want to feature your home in photos and ads. You know the ones – siding/windows or insulation, and they’ll give you a big discount if you sign right now! Naturally, you pay for shoddy work or wind up getting no work at all. More recent scams making the circuit are protective coatings for roofs and driveways that wash away with the first heavy downpour. Sounds too good to be true…
